Our support to the CF community involves:

• Raising funds for SACFA (South African Cystic Fibrosis Association)
• Raising awareness about Cystic Fibrosis
• Emotional support and networking with the CF community and various role players
• Taking hands with CF patients to raise funds and give them access to a broader crowdfunding platform
• Funding/ Negotiating for discounted airfares, accommodation and travel insurance.

We will be giving our continued support to the South African Cystic Fibrosis Association (SACFA) by means of fundraising for the purpose to promote access to new life-changing medication for the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis. Trikafta (generic version Trixacar) is not directly available in South Africa due to registration and patent issues and is also not affordable. Funds raised will be used to cover legal and administrative costs to create access to this drug at an affordable price.

Furthermore, we will be showing our support to CF patients by fundraising with them for treatment/medical equipment needed.

In our pursuit of access for all South Africans to the best available medicine, we will also be collecting medication in Argentina when a patient’s own family is not able to go.

There are currently no direct flights to Buenos Aires, Argentina, from South Africa. Not only are these flights extremely long and expensive, but patients are often too sick or too young to travel themselves.

In fact, our founder was the only and very first patient to fly to Buenos Aires herself, to collect the medication and meet the contact person from the pharmacy and Gador in person during January 2023.

It is therefore imperative for Breathtaking Fundraising Non Profit Company not just to advocate for the CF community in South Africa but also to play a vital role in coordinating flights and volunteers to collect medication in Argentina for sick patients.
