About the project
My name is Zea Truter and I have Cystic Fibrosis.
I was born with this disease and I will forever live with it. I’ve always been smaller than most children and always out of breath. I would cough myself awake at night and make a disturbance in class. When my friends were out having fun, I was stuck in a hospital bed.
My family did not know what was wrong with me until I was diagnosed at the age of 13.
It has been a life changing experience. When I was diagnosed I did not know left from right and where to go from there. I did not know what my life had in store until I started using Trixacar.
My life has changed completely and I am so much happier.
I am finally able to keep up with my friends, do sport and I have even started to grow.
This medicine is life changing and a miracle in itself. I now know what it feels like to breathe and how it feels to enjoy life to its fullest.
However, the cost of living this normal life is high. Due to the cost of this medication, I need all the help I can get to make this medication sustainable for me.
Our fundraising Target is R250 000 and will currently cover 2 boxes of Trixacar.
